DESCRIPTION
2025 marks the 20th anniversary of Sustain-Release, the private press label through which Richard Skelton published a string of hermetic, landscape-oriented albums under a series of pseudonyms between 2005 and 2011.
A Transient Sight is a photographic retrospective, gathering over fifty images from the Sustain-Release archives, including many previously unseen works — layerings of medium format film scans, peel-apart polaroids and digital images that conjure the landscapes of the West Pennine Moors in Northern England.

The book is accompanied by an optional music download card that grants rare access to all the recordings published via Sustain-Release between 2005 and 2011, as well as those released through the Aeolian Editions Archival Series between 2007 and 2018.
It also includes an exclusive 28-minute recording, entitled Source, — newly distilled from field recordings of bowed guitar made near the confluence of the River Yarrow and Green Withins Brook in 2007.

Taken together, both book & music provide the most complete account to date of Skelton's work during the Sustain-Release years.
